findmeaschool.au (“findmeaschool.au”, the “service”) is operated by Portable Labs, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using findmeaschool.au you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
findmeaschool.au is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The service is designed for parents, carers and guardians researching schools — not for use by children.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend accounts to protect the service or other users.

The Preparation Planner works from documents and results you upload — school reports, NAPLAN reports and test results. When you upload anything about a child, you confirm that:
You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store, display and process it solely to operate the service for you — generating and refreshing your child's plan, showing it back to you, and keeping the service secure. That licence does not extend to anything else. Specifically, we do not use your uploads or your child's information to train AI models, ours or anyone else's, and we do not license, sell or share them. The licence ends when you delete the material.
School information on findmeaschool.au is compiled from public datasets and sources (including the Victorian Department of Education, ACARA and Wikidata) and may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect. School zones, fees, results, scores and rankings are indicative only.
Always verify important information directly with the school or the relevant education authority before making enrolment, financial or relocation decisions. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or currency of any school data, and listing a school is not an endorsement. No school, tutor or publisher can pay us for placement, ranking or a recommendation — not now, not ever.
The Preparation Planner produces a study plan by having an AI model interpret the documents and details you provide. It is guidance to help you organise preparation — nothing more.
We do not guarantee, promise or predict any outcome. Using findmeaschool.au will not secure a place at a selective school, a scholarship, an offer of enrolment, a particular test score, a NAPLAN band, or any improvement in your child's results. Exam and selection outcomes depend on your child, the effort they put in, the competition in that year, and the decisions of schools and exam authorities — none of which we control or influence. Any example plan, sample timeline or testimonial on this site describes what the tool produces, not what it achieves.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any school, education department, ACARA, ACER, Edutest, the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, or any other exam or selection body. We do not administer any exam, and we have no access to and no influence over any selection or scholarship process.
The AI chat assistant and the Preparation Planner generate content automatically and can be wrong. They may misread a document, misattribute a result, cite a resource that has changed price or availability, or state something confidently and incorrectly. Check anything that matters against the original document or an official source.
AI output is general information for your consideration. It is not educational, psychological, medical, legal or financial advice, and it is not an assessment or diagnosis of your child. It does not replace the judgement of you, your child's teachers, or a qualified professional. If a plan suggests a workload or a pace that you think is wrong for your child, trust yourself over the software — you are the parent, and the plan is a draft for you to adjust.
If you have concerns about your child's learning, wellbeing or development, speak to their school or a qualified professional. This service is not the right tool for that.
Browsing, searching and comparing school data, the map, the scholarship database and your shortlist are free, and we intend to keep them free. AI preparation planning is a paid feature.
Paid plans are not yet live. When they launch, the following terms apply, and we will show the current prices and inclusions at the point of purchase before you are asked to pay.
Cancelling is as easy as subscribing: one action in your account settings, at any time, with no phone call, no retention offer you have to argue past, and no email required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep access until then, and you are not billed again. If the in-app cancellation ever fails, email contact@portable-labs.com and we will action it and refund anything billed after you asked.
AI generation costs us real money per request, so paid accounts carry fair-use quotas — for example, a cap on plan generations and document readings per month and on assistant messages per day. The limits that apply to your plan are shown at purchase and in the app, and the app tells you when you are approaching one.
Quotas are per account and per household, and reset each period. We may adjust them, and we will give reasonable notice before reducing a limit that applies to a plan you have already paid for. Deliberately working around a quota — sharing an account, scripting requests, creating multiple accounts — is a breach of these terms.
The service — including its software, design, branding and the way we compile and present data — is owned by Portable Labs or its licensors. Underlying public datasets remain subject to their own licences, which are attributed on our Sources page. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes. Plans generated for your child are yours to use for your family; they are not yours to resell or publish as a product.
You retain ownership of content you submit (such as chat messages and feedback). You grant us a licence to use, store and process that content to operate and improve the service — but not to train AI models, and not to share it outside the providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Feedback you provide may be used to improve the product without obligation or compensation to you.
findmeaschool.au is an early-access product provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Subject to the consumer guarantees below, we make no warranties about the service, and we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or continuously available. Features may change or be withdrawn — if we withdraw a paid feature you have paid for, we will refund the unused portion.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Among other things, we must supply this service with due care and skill, fit for any purpose we said it was fit for, and within a reasonable time. For a major failure you are entitled to cancel and get a refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. For a failure that is not major, you are entitled to have the problem fixed within a reasonable time, and if it is not fixed, to a refund.
Nothing in these terms — including the disclaimers about AI output and school data, and the limitation of liability below — excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees or any other right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Those disclaimers describe what the product does and does not promise to deliver; they are not an attempt to contract out of the law, and where they conflict with it, the law wins.
Subject to the section above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Portable Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including decisions made in reliance on school data or AI output, and including any exam, scholarship or enrolment outcome. Where our liability can be limited but not excluded, it is limited, at our option, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply, and in any event to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time; deleting your account also cancels any subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, or discontinue the service (or parts of it) with reasonable notice where practicable, refunding any unused paid period. Before we close an account, you will have a reasonable opportunity to export or delete your child's information. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you in advance. If a change materially disadvantages you as a paying subscriber, you may cancel before it takes effect and we will refund the unused portion of your period. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
